Day 1 - Welcome to Montréal

Upon arrival at Montreal Pierre-Elliott Trudeau International Airport, pick-up your car rental and drive the approximate 30-minutes to Old Montreal.
For the next 3-nights the Saint-Sulpice will be your oasis of luxury and respite from the everyday. The all new hotel can cater to you every need. This full service hotel has every amenity imaginable from fine dining to a luxurious fitness center. There are 108 spacious suites from 550 to 1500 square feet - many with a fireplace. Starting from your hotel, you will enjoy your Montréal day of fun! Let's start with a city tour that will take you from the downtown area to the Mount Royal where our first stop will be at the Montréal Police Department's stables. You will have the unique chance to visit the stable and learn more about the city's cavalry!
We will now head for the Olympic Park where you will enjoy the Biodome, a unique museum where you will live 4 different ecosystems of the Americas: the Tropical Forest, the Laurentian Forest, the St. Lawrence Marine environment and the Polar World.
Enjoy lunch in the Olympic Park area (we suggest "La Brise", the Biodome restaurant, nice cafeteria style).
Next visit of the Insectarium. Located on the grounds of the Montréal Botanical Garden, the Insectarium is home to some mysterious and little-known creatures: the insects of the world!
We continue our journey as we head for Old Montréal. After a quick visit of the area, we will take you to the Montréal Science Center where you will enjoy the exhibition rooms, the "Immersion" interactive movie theater and even an IMAX® movie. After a full day of sightseeing your driver will return you to your hotel.

Today you leave Montréal and travel to Québec City which is a leisurely 3-hour drive.

Québec City is distinctively European; a place of mellowed stone buildings, horse-drawn carriages and narrow winding streets. Today you will be met by your guide and take a short walk through the streets of Old Quebec to La Citadell of Quebec and hear about the lives of those who created and defended Québec City over four tumultuous centuries. You will view the 'Changing of the Guard' (from June 24th to the 1st Monday in September) and then enjoy a 60-minute guided tour of the Old Fort.
Next you will enjoy a short drive to visit Parc Aquarium du Quebec. Travel into the ecosystems of the St. Lawrence River and Canadian waters and discover northern plant and animal life. This 16-hectare site is the only one of its kind in Québec. As you make this amazing journey all the way to the North Pole, you'll have the chance to observe 10,000 fresh- and salt-water fish specimens, reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, as well as marine mammals, such as Atlantic and Pacific walruses, seals and polar bears. Enjoy lunch at the aquarium (on own).
Next you will depart Quebec City for a short drive to Ile Orléans and visit La Chocolaterie de I’Ile D’Orleans. Enjoy the interpretation center of this chocolate maker and see these artists make chocolates by hand.
You will then depart l’Ile D’Orleans and make your way to Montmorency Falls - 272 ft high waterfalls (1.5 times higher than Niagara Falls). Take some time to admire the grandeur of these stunning falls, then board the cable car for a beautiful panoramic view of the entire area. Your driver will meet you at the top of the falls for your drive back to Quebec City.

Today you leave Québec City and travel to the Charlevoix region of Québec, specifically La Malbaie, a leisurely 1.5-hour drive.
Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu is located atop a cliff overlooking the St-Lawrence River, in the village of Pointe Au Pic next to Malbaie. The Charlevoix Casino is also on property.
The original Manoir Richelieu was built in 1899 and featured 250 rooms catering to prominent visitors from Canada and the U.S. The hotel was destroyed by fire in 1928, and rebuilt in 1929 in the style of a French castle. It now features 405 rooms and suites (including 25 suites and 21 Fairmont Gold rooms and suites) in a traditional yet contemporary decor. All rooms feature air conditioning, cable TV with in-room movies and video games, iron and ironing board, bathrobes, hair-dryer, mini-bar and telephone with voice mail. You have a full day today to explore the beautiful Charlevoix area. Charlevoix’s rugged hills and coast, fertile river valleys and picturesque fishing and farming communities such as Baie St Paul, Ile aux Coudres, Ste Irénée and St Joseph have also long inspired painters, poets, writers and musicians.
Part of Charlevoix has been named a United Nations World Biosphere Reserve, thanks to a unique boreal forest unusual at this latitude. This protected area is a slim band of flowery rural beauty on the southern edge of tundra that stretches northward. Just 32 km (20 miles) north of Baie St Paul lays the Parc des Grands Jardins, a vast expanse of lakes and black spruce evergreen taiga forest home to a herd of caribou, that offers spectacular walking and hiking opportunities.
Enjoy a 3-hour guided whale watching cruise of the spectacular Saguenay Fjord, where the mountains meet the sea and of the St. Lawrence River. See Tadoussac, one of the most beautiful bays in the world, and cruise to the northern gateway of Maritime Quebec, at the junction of two of Quebec's most picturesque tourist regions: Charlevoix and Manicouagan.
This area is known for its abundant marine life and as one of the best whale watching sites in the world. See nature in its most awe-inspiring beauty. Let an experienced guide show you how to recognize the whales found in the St. Lawrence River which include Minke, Fin, Blue and Beluga whales, while the wide-angle and underwater cameras on board reveal the rich environment below the surface.
