Upon arrival at Vancouver Airport your driver will meet you for a 30-minute transfer to downtown Vancouver.

For the next two nights you will stay at the boutique Wedgewood Hotel. Located on fashionable Robson Square, in the heart of downtown Vancouver, amidst the gardens and waterfalls, an abundance of flowers, fine antique pieces and original works of art characterize the 83 luxurious rooms, suites and public areas of the hotel.

Your Deluxe Executive Room is extremely spacious, bright and beautifully appointed. These newly renovated rooms feature walk-in Roman marble showers and luxurious soaker tubs pour two, which are placed right in the bedroom. Rooms also feature balconies (some with flower beds), air conditioning, top quality bedding with fluffy duvets, luxurious terry bathrobes, 2-line speaker phones with data ports, stocked mini bars, in-room safes, iron/ironing boards, coffee and tea service, turn down service complete with homemade cookies and bottled water, complimentary ice delivery and 24-hour room service.

Day 2 - Vancouver Exploring

This morning your driver will pick you up at your hotel and take you on a private tour of Vancouver. Vancouver is famous for its cultural diversity and its spectacular parks.

Explore the downtown area with such highlights as: the Entertainment District: Canada Place cruise ship terminal, Queen Elizabeth Theatre and the Public Library, GM Place and BC Place Stadiums. Chinatown: one of the largest in North America. Gastown: the historic district - see the Steam Clock. Robson Street: Great shopping and restaurants. Stanley Park: 1,000 acres of forest and gardens surrounded by beaches: see the Rose Garden; wander among totem poles, stop at Prospect Point. English Bay: Famous beaches; beautiful sunsets. Queen Elizabeth Park: Admire a panoramic view from this park with its Sunken Gardens and Conservatory. Shaughnessy Estates: Stately mansions from a bygone era. Granville Island: Enjoy browsing through the Public Market, galleries, marinas and specialty shops. You may decide to stay there for lunch or choose to be dropped off downtown. The remainder of the afternoon is at leisure to further explore the city or maybe, do a little shopping on Robson Street, our very own Rodeo Drive!

Day 3 - Vancouver / Ganges on Salt Spring Island

This afternoon you will be transferred by private sedan to the seaplane terminal for a scenic scheduled seaplane flight to Salt Spring Island. In less than one your you will arrive at Ganges Harbour on Salt Spring Island, where a representative from Hastings House will be there to greet you and transfer you to the inn.

You will stay for the next three nights at Hastings House, located in a uniquely pastoral setting. Its casual elegance, fine cuisine and ideal location in the beautiful Gulf Islands make Hastings House one of the most romantic destinations in British Columbia. Its 11th-century Sussex-style Manor House will take you back to an atmosphere of simplicity and classic finery, providing the perfect setting for afternoon tea or pre-dinner cocktails.

The twenty-five acre seaside estate features five tastefully restored cottages and two newly constructed buildings amid gardens and fruit trees. Your Meadow Suite is a newly remodeled garden level two room-suite offering a queen bed sitting room with fireplace and TV armoire. French door open to a verdant meadow perfect for watching eagles and other birds, or perhaps some lambs at play. A separate study with desk and daybed also accesses the large bath with walk-in shower and generous soaking tub.

Hastings House’s excellent cuisine can be credited to European trained Executive Chef Marcel Kauer and to his selection of the freshest seafood, produce and game available. Cocktails are served in the living room before dinner, and on the patio in fine weather. Enjoy intimate fireside dining, casual dining in the Verandah next to the living room, or for special occasions, the Manor dining room. The wine list features notable British Columbia wines, as well as fine selections from around the world.

Days 4 – Kayaking Tour

Private Kayaking Tour (4-hours) including gourmet box lunch and guide gratuities

Overnight in a Meadow Suite at Hastings House

This morning you will awake to find a hamper basket with steaming coffee or tea and freshly baked muffins delivered to your door. Then enjoy a full English breakfast in the Dining Room.

Following breakfast, you will take a short stroll into the little town of Ganges, to the harbour, where you will explore the beauty of the island from the water. Salt Spring Island is a paddler's paradise. Mild climate, sheltered waters and easy access make this one of the most desirable paddling and sailing destinations in Canada. Enjoy a 3-hour private kayaking tour. After meeting with your private guide and receiving some instruction, you will paddle with your guide along the chain of islands in Ganges Harbour to the beautiful shell covered Chocolate Beach on Third Sister Island. Here you will take a short hike on to a beautiful lookout. Enjoy the fascination of the intertidal marine life and the beautiful sandstone rock formation and interesting bird life. Kayakers often view marine life such as seals, sea lions, porpoise, and otters or view an abundance of unique sea birds like great blue herons, eagles, oyster catchers, swans, harlequin ducks, and more, right from your kayak. Included in your half day excursion is a picnic lunch.

The remainder of the afternoon is at lesiure, you may decide to indulge in a spa treatment or two before dinner.

Tonight you may decide to have an in-suite fireside supper, very romantic.

Day 5 – Salt Spring Island at Leisure

You have the full day to enjoy the numerous natural and cultural activities on Salt Spring Island. There is a lot to explore and discover on the island. Visit the charming town of Ganges (population 5000), only a 10-15 minute walk away from the inn, full of artisans, craftspeople, quaint shops, giftshops, art galleries and beautiful harbor views. Visit local beaches or go on an afternoon hike. There are dozens of hiking trails to choose from, ranging in the level of challenges. You may decide to rent a car for the day to explore Salt Spring. It takes approximately two hours to drive the perimeter of this small island, and you can take a self-guided art gallery tour to visit the 36 artists’ galleries throughout the island and in Ganges, many in their own quaint homes!

Day 6 – Salt Spring Island / Vancouver / Departure

Scheduled seaplane flight to the South Terminal of Vancouver International Airport

Your west coast vacation has come to an end. Today you will be transferred by hotel shuttle to the seaplane terminal, where you will take a short flight back to Vancouver. Upon arrival in Vancouver your driver will be waiting for you to drive you by private sedan Vancouver International Airport for your flight home. Have a safe trip!
